"The Great Redemption" (40)

"The Great Redemption" by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto

-- A Discourse on The End of the Exile and the Beginning of the Great Redemption

Translated by Rabbi Yaakov Feldman

40.

I’ll now explain a very inscrutable mystery to you that’s based on the verse “Who is that coming from Edom” (Isaiah 63:1). This refers to the tzaddik, who is Moshiach Ben Yoseph.

Know that Moshiach Ben Yoseph will reappear after the Shechina returns to its place, and his root will be fortified. He’ll then arrive at Batsrah and trample the winepress enough to extract all that must be extracted.

But I have already revealed this mystery elsewhere in connection with the verse, “A ruler will come out of Jacob” (Numbers 24:19), see there (Kinnot Hashem Tzivakot 2).

The Shechina will then see the avenging of its enemies from its place. Understand this well.
