"The Great Redemption" (24)

"The Great Redemption" by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto

-- A Discourse on The End of the Exile and the Beginning of the Great Redemption

Translated by Rabbi Yaakov Feldman

24.

I’ll now encapsulate (much of) what I’d already said until now in order to make sure you’re right (about what you understand) and that you don’t err or falter.

The P’kidah will emend and repair the first imperfection of the exile, which was the hiding of the countenance and the dimming of the light. The tzaddik will descend and conjoin with Malchut and she will derive the ability and wherewithal to rise up out of the dust.

All the souls that are stuck in darkness will be enstrengthened as well and escape. And the Moshiach will then rectify himself and get ready to be the redeemer.

Something else will occur at that time, also having to do with the rectifying of the Moshiach which I hadn’t yet explained to you. It’s the fact that since every Jewish soul is tied to the Crown that’s being readied for the Moshiach, all of them will desire, love, and be faithful to their shepherd to a very great degree, which will then bring about peace and tranquility. But this will only come about from within and won’t be manifest.
