"The Great Redemption" (34)

"The Great Redemption" by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto

-- A Discourse on The End of the Exile and the Beginning of the Great Redemption

Translated by Rabbi Yaakov Feldman

34.

I’ll now explain something very portentous that will happen in the end of days. All the sparks of holiness will need to return to their (original) place before the exiled can gather together.

But know that three groupings of holiness will have to descend (beforehand). Understand well (for yourself), though, just how recondite these groupings are, since I can’t explicate things I was told to cover over. Let those who know understand.

(First,) holy sparks, souls, will be (i.e., are to act as) “female waters” to Binah and Malchut; (second,) some (of these) groupings will be from the lights themselves; and (third,) a small amount of holiness will (continue to) animate the externals.

But all three will need to ascend. And three actions will come about in the course of three eras to help them to.
